FAQs

How do I measure what size I need?

Simply look for the size rug you purchased or use a ruler. Once you know the dimensions, rug pad is usually cut 1 ½” shorter on all sizes to allow the rug to lay down on the edges.

What rug pad is good for people with allergies?

All of RPP’s rug pads are non-allergenic, non-toxic, no odors or off gassing. Our pads are Eco friendly and have obtained the Green Label Plus certification by the Carpet and Rug Institute.

How long will rug pad last?

RPP’s pad is warrantied for 20 years and our Eco products are warrantied for the life of the rug!

Does it smell funny like a new rug or carpet?

That’s called off-gassing and occurs when chemicals are added. Our pads have no chemicals added during processing and are odor & off-gassing free. Non-allergenic. Non-toxic. Eco friendly. Recyclable. Sustainable.

Is it environmentally safe?

Yes, it has been tested and Green Label Plus certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute. With no odor or off-gassing, non-allergenic, non-toxic, recycled and environmentally sustainable it’s the safest pad on the market.

Does it stick to the carpet or floor?

No, absolutely not. That problem is caused by clay fillers added to the rubber in the inexpensive pad.

Is it safe for older people who may shuffle their feet?

That is one of the best reasons to purchase our rug pad. The rug drapes over the side of the pad and also protects the rug from sliding.

My rug is not a standard size. Can I cut the pad to size?

Absolutely. A good pair of scissors, carpet/utility knife, or a rotary knife will do the job just perfectly.

Should I cut the pad a little smaller than my rug?

Depending on the rug, 1-2 inches from the edge on all sides. We cut ours 2 inches from the edge as many rugs are not square. If you are not sure if your rug is square, use 2 inches.
